No | Safety Recall Campaign | Affected Models | Production Period | Description of Defect: |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | [Grey Import] [R/SSC] Airbag Sensor replacement on Toyota and Lexus Multiple Model vehicles | ALPHARD | 20-May-2015 to 28-Oct-2015 |
The subject vehicles are equipped with an airbag system containing Pressure sensors and/or acceleration sensors (also known as “G sensors”) which detect impact to the vehicle. There is a possibility that, due to two different manufacturing issues, the IC chips in affected Pressure sensors and G sensors have insulation layers that could peel over time, creating an open circuit in the IC chip. If this were to occur, the airbag warning light will illuminate and the side/curtain shield airbags and/or front airbags, may not deploy (Prius models do not have the G sensor issue and their front airbags are not affected). Non-deployment of the side/curtain shield airbags and/or front airbags could increase the risk of injury to the occupants in the event of a crash. |

2 | [Grey Import] Passenger side Front Airbag | COROLLA | Oct-2000 to Oct-2013 |
The subject vehicles are equipped with front driver air bag inflators (Takata-designated SDI) and/or front passenger air bag inflators (Takata-designated SPI, SPI-2, PSPI-6, SDI) which contain a non-desiccated, phase stabilized ammonium nitrate propellant. According to Takata’s reports, a defect related to motor vehicle safety may arise in the inflators due to propellant degradation occurring after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling. Activation of a non-desiccated ammonium nitrate inflator with degraded propellant may result in an inflator rupture. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the air bag and into the vehicle interior at high speed, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. |

3 | [Grey Import] Fuel Injectors, Supply pump pipe and Supply pump on Hiace and Dyna (Euro 5) | HIACE | Oct-2011 to Oct-2015 |
In the fuel injector of EURO 5 diesel engine, a crack may possibly occur at the fuel passage due to insufficient durability in the fuel pump and the fuel injection nozzle. Accordingly, the fuel leakage may possibly occur, resulting in the engine stall. |
